Rehan’s Secondment at Partner Organization in Torun, Poland

Rehan Iftikhar, Marie Skłodowska Curie Researcher, based in Dublin City University has recently finished 1st part of his secondment at Technology4mobile(T4M). T4M is an SME, specializing in mobile payment solutions based in Torun, Poland. The secondment continued for two months, from 1st April, 2019 to 31st May, 2019.

During this secondment, Rehan together with T4M and retail partners worked on preparing the process and equipment for studying different payment technologies and their efficiency in retail stores using innovative digital technologies. The study will take place next year and Rehan will go back to be a part of this study in Torun. During the secondment, he also worked with researchers at T4M to study blockchain patents and analysed the role blockchain can play in the future of retail. Moreover, he analysed customer journey data for online customers to find patterns of channel hopping from mobile to web and vice-versa.

Industry engagement is a key aspect for a project like PERFORM and during his secondment Rehan presented his research to industry representative. First of these presentations was delivered during E-business day held at Nicolaus Copernicus University, Torun on 9th May, 2019. The second presentation was at the 6th Annual Digital Money and Blockchain Forum held in Warsaw, Poland on 16th May, 2019.
