Topic: Technologies for Integrated Digital Retail Systems
Project Description: The objective of this project is to identify best technology practices that are capable to integrate traditional and online retail channels, providing unified customer experience and integrated retail operation and payment systems, applying different retail technologies. This may include mobile solution, innovative payment systems, self-service systems.
Researcher: This research project will be carried out by ESR 8 Rehan Iftikhar.
Host Supervisor: This position is supervised by Dr. Markus Helfert. Markus Helfert is the Director Business Informatics Research Group Science Foundation Ireland, Maynooth University. He has significant experience in Smart IoT Environments and Information Systems. He is SFI Funded Investigator in Lero – The Irish Software Research Centre and Lead Researcher for a Project within Insight – The Analytics research Centre. His research, featured in peer-reviewed journals and widely in conference participation.

Secondments: This position includes 2 secondments to partner organisations. The planned secondments will be to
- Technology For Mobile (under supervision of Prof. Polasik), in month 16 for 4 months, for ‘practical proof of concept and payment systems’.
- AWSi (under supervision of Dr. Werth), in month 23 for 3 months, for ‘retail information systems’.
