Douglas Cirqueira, attended the 2019 International Conference on Frontiers of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (FAIML) from 26th to 28th of July, in Rome, Italy. There, he got the award as the best paper during the event. Douglas presented the results of his current experiments on applying machine learning models for the detection of customer purchase patterns for fraud detection in digital retail. The paper was developed with the supervisors from the PERFORM project, Markus Helfert from Maynooth University and Marija Bezbradica from Dublin City University.
He also attended the workshop New Frontiers in Mining Complex Patterns at the 19th European Conference on Machine Learning and Principles and Practice of Knowledge Discovery in Databases (ECML-PKDD), from 16th to 20th of September, in Wüzburg, Germany. There, Douglas presented the results of his first literature review, focused on understanding customer behavior in the E-commerce environment. The paper was developed with his supervisors Marija and Markus, and in collaboration with the PERFORM supervisors Dietmar Nedbal from FH Steyr, and Markus Hofer from Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich.
Both papers will be available soon in the conference’s proceedings:
- “Towards Preprocessing Guidelines for Neural Network Embedding of Customer Behavior in Digital Retail” by Douglas Cirqueira, Markus Helfert and Marija Bezbradica. To appear in: International Conference on Frontiers of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, FAIML 2019.
- “Customer Purchase Behavior Prediction in E-commerce: Current Tasks, Applications and Methodologies” by Douglas Cirqueira, Markus Hofer, Dietmar Nedbal, Markus Helfert, and Marija Bezbradica. To appear in: New Frontiers in Mining Complex Patterns. 8th International Workshop, NFMCP 2019, Held in Conjunction with ECML-PKDD 2019
