Early Stage PERFORM Researchers from DCU – Gültekin Cakir, Rehan Iftikhar, and Artem Bielozorov attended the IVI Digital Summit 2019 in Maynooth University on June 12th. The topic of the summit this year was about how to facilitate the evolution of service innovation within organizations to successfully embrace changes within organisational design and behavior.
Among the keynote speakers were a Professor of Information Systems Technology Management at Pepperdine Business School, CIO at Primeline, Global Digital Transformation Director at HP Financial Services, and many others. In their presentations, the speakers touched base on the new strategies business and technology leaders must adapt to capture the value offered by new technologies and agile practices, while simultaneously cultivating a sustainable culture of innovation.
Professor Markus Helfert, who is a Chief PERFORM Project Coordinator and a Chair of the Supervisory Board was also giving a speech on the impact of the shift in service innovation paradigm and how researchers and practitioners need to adapt to the ongoing changes by redesigning their service systems, mindsets, and behavioral patterns.
Gültekin, Rehan, and Artem presented a joint poster to the IVI Summit participants and gave a snapshot on critical factors for an effective digital retail management system, key impact factors for efficient interaction channels configuration, and effect of digital technologies on customer-retailer interactions. They also discussed future steps and anticipated outcomes.
The ESRs also participated in the interactive workshops and got familiar with Design Thinking principles, innovation design techniques and approaches, and how to get the highest value out of embedded innovations.
